My fifth trip to Australia took me to

and a visit to Tasmania

The trip to the fifth continent took place between January 16 and February 15, 2020

Between Zurich (CH) and Melbourne (AU) there are approx 16800 km 

with Singapore Airline, with a stopover in  the city -state of Singapore.

If ever there were a true symbol of the city, Flinders Street Station would have time it.Built in 1854, it was Melbourne's  first railway station.

Melbourne has a population of 4,9 million and is the second largest city in Australia, in comparison to Sydney has 5,23 million.

Stylish, arty Melbourne is both dynamic and cosmopolitan and its proud of its place as Australia `s  sporting and cultural capital.
Stately architecture and a multicultural make-up reflect the city 's history.

In puncto Lebensqualität unter den Gross-Städten auf dem Globus, rangiert Melbourne ganz vorn.Es gibt ein reiches Kulturleben und eine abwechslungsreiche Gastronomie.

Melbourne ist die Hauptstadt des australischen Bundesstaates Victoria und mit 4.9 Millionen  Einwohnern nach Sydney die zweitgrösste Stadt nach Sydney des Kontinents.
Die Metropole  wurde  1835 als Blockbausiedlung gegründet. Im Hinterland entdeckte man ergiebige Goldfelder und es begann ein kometenhafter Aufstieg zur Metropole. Zehntausende Menschen - aus aller Herrenländer  folgten den Lockruf nach Victoria.

Melbourne ist nach den damaligen Britischen Premier Viscount Melbourne benannt.

Keine australische Metropole weist in der Architektur mehr britisch, viktorianische Züge auf.
